Shropshire’s Land Rover dealership chose a totally different setting for their 2010 model launch.

Shukers Land Rover took their roadshow to Ludlow Food Centre, Bromfield, both for the location and the facilities the venue could offer.

Their choice paid off with many customers turning up at regular intervals during the day to enjoy the setting, the weather and buffet lunch.

The venue was specially selected by Shukers Land Rover’s managing director Vernon Hogg who wanted to work with a joint local partner.

“It is an ideal venue for a launch of this kind and it is also the third time this year we have teamed up with local businesses which has worked extremely well in generating interest for both parties,” Vernon explained.

“In addition it is fair to say that our customers enjoy the slightly different stance that this brings to our open days and launches.”

Tom Hunt, of Ludlow Food Centre, described the launch as ‘one of the largest partner events’ held at the centre. “It was a pleasure working with the Shukers team who brought a great added attraction to Ludlow Food Centre.

“I was so pleased we had good weather and that Shukers and their guests enjoyed the freshly made food - using locally sourced ingredients - that we served in the Windsor Conference Room as well as the extremely impressive new Land Rover range on display outside,” he added.

Vernon announced that the public launch of the 2010 model range will take place at Shukers’ Shrewsbury and Ludlow dealerships on September 5.

The customer launch at Ludlow Food Centre saw a large number of people testing the vehicles on Land Rover’s Terrapod 4x4 demonstration unit. This gave them the experience of manoeuvring a 4x4 off-road.

There was a lot of interest in the new Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Discovery 4 and a number of demonstrations were booked on the day.

The dealership also sold a Range Rover Sport on the day. A customer from Tenbury Wells placed an order and Shukers Land Rover expect more to follow in the days ahead.

Customer Brian Parkinson, of Far Forest, who recently bought a Discovery 3 demonstrator from Shukers, said he could be ‘easily tempted’ by the new Discovery 4.

“I am most happy with my 09 plate Discovery HSE, but I am very impressed with the new features introduced on Discovery 4,” he added.
