John Ernest Owen
John Ernest Owen, born September 21st 1939. Second son of Sir Alfred Owen.
During the 60's, John played rugby for England playing in the lock position. He won 14 caps for his country.
John trained with Jaguar Cars Ltd, and joined the family firm in 1963 as Managing Director of the Easiclene company. He was responsible for the organisations domestic and office equipment activities.
John and his brother David, were appointed Joint Deputy Managing Directors in March 1967 and after their father was taken ill, they dealt with the day to day management of the group. John Owen became Managing Director of the Darlaston companies and their associated factories in Moxley, Wednesbury, Wrexham and Warrington.
