Shukers take NFU reps off-roading
A Shropshire Land Rover dealer has given area representatives of the National Farmers’ Union an insight into off-road driving to help them better understand the product.
For the NFU and Land Rover have formed an ‘Affinity Programme’ to benefit both organisations over a period of 12 months. The NFU say Land Rover and themselves have a strong history and a ‘natural fit’ with NFU members.
Shukers Land Rover, which represents the manufacturer in Shropshire through its dealerships in Shrewsbury and Ludlow, provided a half day Land Rover driving experience at Peckforton Castle just north of Whitchurch.
Said Shukers’ corporate manger Adrian Lenc: “Land Rover and NFU members have a natural fit with a strong history going back many years and this is Land Rover’s first – and only- affinity deal.
“NFU recognise Land Rover as a British organisation with products which have excellent ‘whole life costs’, residual values and longevity and represent outstanding value for NFU members.
“The focus of the day at Peckforton Castle was to cement our relationship with local and area representatives of the NFU and bring them up to speed with the Land Rover product off-road which was great fun for all concerned.
“We gave the representatives an opportunity to drive all models in the range off-road and they considered the experience to have been a massive awareness of the product, which they otherwise wouldn’t have, to be able to pass on to their members.”
A spokesperson for the NFU said their representatives had ‘thoroughly enjoyed the day’, adding: “Aligned with the NFU positioning of encouraging people to buy British produce and support British Industry, the value of such an off-road driving experience is invaluable.”
