Valeting team excel in Shrewsbury

In what is believed to be the first of its kind in the area, two service valeters have been given a day’s training course and certificates recognising their specialist skills in a paint sealant.

Acknowledgement of their skills has been verified by Matt Darge, technical manager of A-Glaze whose surface protector is being used more and more by Shukers Land Rover at their Shrewsbury and Ludlow dealerships.

He carried out the day’s training of Gary and Jordan, both of Oswestry, who are applying the paint sealant to an increasing number of new and used cars and wanted to improve their knowledge and skills in a product that carries aircraft and boat certification.

Said Gary, 30: “Jordan and I understand that we are the first valeters in the area to receive this training which is important when more and more customers hear about the surface sealant and want it applied to their car, whether new or used.”

Said Jordan, 20: “When people realise that the finish is guaranteed for five years they are really keen and we felt the onus was on us to be as well trained in the product as possible.”

Tony Macera, Shukers Land Rover sales manager, encouraged Jordan and Gary to have the training. “In all fairness to them they wanted all the information they could get, including facts that oxidisation, the sun’s ultraviolet rays, repelling acid rain and industrial fallout wont affect a vehicle with an A-Glaze protected surface.”

Jordan has been a valeter at Shukers Land Rover for two years while Gary joined the ‘A-Team’ at their Battlefield Road, Harlescott dealership, three months ago.
